Ensure protection of Meiteis living in the state, DGP Mizoram said

Aizawl: Mizoram Director General of Police (DGP), P Anil Shukla, has asked police officials to ensure adequate deployment in all districts to prevent any untoward incident for the safety of the Meiteis living in the state, an official statement said on July 23.
The development comes in the wake of a proposed solidarity protest march by the Young Mizo Association (YMA)-led NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) on July 25 (Tuesday) in Manipur to show support for the Kuki-Zo community.
In this regard, DGP Mizoram convened a review meeting in his office chamber on July 22, which was attended by senior police officers, and the meeting also focused on reviewing security arrangements and deployments.
โ€œFurthermore, all measures taken to ensure safety and security of Manipuri people/Meiteis in different parts of Mizoram were carefully reviewed.
During the meeting, DGP Mizoram directed to ensure proper deployment, patrolling and vigilance in all districts especially in vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incident.
The DGP also emphasized the need for adequate reserve forces with vehicles and officers for quick deployment and response in case of any incident in their areas.
After the meeting, the DGP Mizoram and a team of senior police officials visited the locations of the proposed site in Aizawl, namely Chanmari on the north side, Kulikawn on the south side, and Raj Bhavan North Gate, where the procession is going to take place for ground survey and assessment.
โ€œThe Mizoram police, along with the administrative authorities, are closely monitoring the situation. Senior police officers and all police personnel on ground are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of Manipuri people/Meitei in various parts of Mizoram.
