ENPO leaders to meet Amit Shah
KOHIMA: Leaders of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on December 3.
ENPO leaders will discuss their demand for a separate “frontier Nagaland” state with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during their meeting on December 3.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet ENPO leaders of Nagaland in New Delhi.
This was stated by the spokesperson of ENPO.
ENPO is present in six out of total 16 districts of Nagaland.
In particular, the ENPO has threatened to boycott next year’s assembly elections if the demand for a separate “Frontier Nagaland” state in Nagaland is not met.
“If the Center fails to respond to our appeal, we will ask all our 20 elected representatives (MLAs) to resign,” said an ENPO spokesperson.
Moreover, ENPO has decided not to participate in the famous Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.
The 10-day Hornbill Festival in Nagaland will begin from December 1.
Nagaland Assembly has a total of 60 seats.Of the total 60 seats in the Nagaland Assembly, 20 are in the six districts where ENPO has a presence.
They are six districts: Kefir, Longling, Mon, Noklik, Shamatur and Teonsang.
Notably, the ruling NDPP has 15 of these seats, the ally BJP has four, and one MLA is independent.
