Black Day for Mon Killing
KOHIMA: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) has decided to observe December 4 and 5 as “Black Day” in the entire Eastern Nagaland region.
ENPO has appealed to people living in eastern Nagaland under the organization’s jurisdiction to hoist black flags in all households and remember those who lost their lives in Monday’s killings on December 4 and 5 last year.

He added: “… it is also requested that we all take some time to pray in remembrance of these souls and their families.”
ENPO had last year decided to observe December 4 and 5 as “Black Day” in the entire Eastern Nagaland region.
Resolved by the ENPO to observe the “brutal killing of innocent people by the Indian security forces on 4th and 5th December 2021 in Mon district of Nagaland”.
On December 4 last year, a team of 21 para-special forces of the Indian Army ambushed and targeted at least 13 innocent civilians in a counter-insurgency operation in Nagaland’s Mon district.
On December 5 last year, another civilian was killed when Assam Rifles personnel fired on a crowd of protesters in Nagaland’s Mon district.
