Shillong: Members of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) staged a protest in front of the Central Secretariat building on July 14 to demand the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state of Meghalaya.
Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) members have raised their objections to the government’s idea of bringing railway lines in the state.
“No railway without ILP” slogans were raised by the protesters.
The protest started at 12 pm when HYC members held up protest placards condemning MPCC president and MP Vincent Pala’s statement on railways. Pala had earlier this week said, “Personally I have no problem if a railway comes…
This angered the HYC who chanted “Down, Down Vincent Pala”.
HYC has also expressed concern over the disappearance of the “MRSSA Bill”.
