Emergency alert issued at Imphal Airport, after a UFO sighted
Manipur: Imphal International Airport was forced to take emergency measures after an unidentified flying object was spotted in its controlled airspace on November 19.
Two incoming flights were diverted and three others were delayed due to the incident.
Airport Director, Chipemmi Keishing, confirmed the unusual incident and said flight operations were temporarily suspended pending clearance from the competent authority.
A sense of urgency gripped the airport as the unidentified object was spotted, prompting heightened security measures.
Both the police and airport authorities were put on high alert to take stock of the situation.
In response to the potential threat, authorities took the precautionary step of closing the airspace in and around Imphal. As a result of this decision, flight services were disrupted.
