More than 270 cases of dengue have been detected in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district in the last five days, an order said on Sunday.
Precautions against the “coming plague” have been initiated.
All educational institutions in the Dafoe Municipal Board and Greater Dafoe Town areas in Assam will remain closed from Monday to Saturday.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM), 285 dengue cases were detected in Assam between November 1 and 5, with at least 271 recorded in Karbi Anglong.
“The situation at Kirbi Anglong is closely monitored and all precautionary measures are being taken to deal with the situation,” the NHM statement said.
