During Defusing IED Assam Rifles personnel injured in Manipur

Imphal: An Assam Rifles personnel was injured while defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Manipur.

The incident took place in Seton village of Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Friday (May 12) morning.

The place, where the incident took place, is about 60 km south of Imphal, the capital of Manipur.

According to defense sources, the IED was a crude bomb, which was locally made.
Earlier on May 11, at least one Manipur police commando was killed and five others injured in an attack by suspected militants.
The incident took place near Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district of Manipur.

On May 10, an Assam Rifles officer was injured when miscreants fired at a paramilitary column in Manipur’s Imphal East district.

After firing a few rounds, the miscreants fled. An officer of the Assam Rifles was injured in a bullet injury. He is currently undergoing treatment,” the army had said.
