During 72-hour bandh in Arunachal 10 held, 41 booked in violence

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh police have arrested ten persons for disturbing law and order and damaging public property during the 72-hour bandh that ended on Saturday morning.

Arunachal Pradesh Police registered 12 cases and identified around 4o others who allegedly created law and order situation and damaged public property during the bandh, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
He said that a total of 41 persons have been booked under the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (APUAPA), 2014 for causing damage to public property.

At least 120 people were detained in Arunachal Pradesh during the three-day bandh. However, later, APPPRO Rohit Rajbir Singh, was released after counseling or signing a ‘good behaviour’ or security bond.
He said the police is looking for those who collected money to run the closed call.

He said that the police was moving forward to take strict legal action against these persons and added that the next phase of investigation would be to trace the sources of funding.
“We also had information about the recovery of money to trigger the state-wide shutdown. We are collecting evidence including bank details and financial transactions,” he said.

Nari Shakti and Pro-Dem demanded a 72-hour Arunachal Pradesh bandh from May 10 to May 12 demanding the government to fulfill the 13-point charter of demand on the APPSC paper leak issue.
