Don’t use tints and nets on car windows, both attract fines
GUWAHATI: The use of tints and nets on car windows has been banned for a long time, but using some black opaque nets was an alternative for people.
The Assam Police took notice of this on Tuesday and clarified that the use of the net is also prohibited or banned.
Assam Police said on its official Twitter handle that use of any such colors or nets will attract fine.
“Black is black, no problem! Some people have been seen using black net instead of black tinting on car windows. We want to reiterate that using black film or black net on cars, Both attract fines. OPEC blacknet is not the same as sunscreen”, the Assam Police tweet read.
It should be noted that in 2012, the Supreme Court of India declared the use of tint and sun films on vehicle windows illegal.
Following an inordinate number of criminal accidents involving moving vehicles, this ban was implemented to protect the safety of passengers.
