Itanagar: Doggogate? Anger over IAS duo’s ‘punishment posting’ in Arunachal, Ladakh .The central government’s decision to transfer IAS Sanjeev Khirwar to Ladakh and his wife Rinko Dugga from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh has caused a stir on social media.

Trinamool Congress MLA Mahua Moitra was one of the first to criticize the Home Ministry for merely “exposing the northeastern region” and then “treating the region like dirt”.
Moitra said the transfer of a ‘wrong Delhi bureaucrat’ in Arunachal Pradesh was a disgrace to the northeastern state and appealed to Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pima Khandu to protest.
The IAS couple was evacuated by the MHA after reports that they had been evacuating their dog to Thiagraj Stadium in Delhi for a walk. A photo of the couple walking on the athletic track with their dog has also gone viral on social media.
The bureaucrat duo is a 1994 batch officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Daga will join the Arunachal Pradesh Health Department as its secretary.
