Imphal: Hundreds of patients across the state faced difficulties due to the ongoing indefinite strike by doctors after the Manipur government failed to actually fulfill the initial agreements.
Angered by angry doctors, some patients say that an amicable solution should be found before the situation worsens.
Due to the strike, various health care services in various health centers of the districts have been badly affected.
Health Specialists under the auspices of the All Manipur Health Services Doctors Association (AMHSDA) on Tuesday stepped up their protest after the state government did not fulfill their demands, including timely promotion.
These demands include raising the retirement age of specialists and non-specialist doctors to 65 years as well as inclusion of NPA in basic pay from January 1, 2016, as per the 7th Central Pay Commission and revision of old pay of MHS Rules 1982.
The general secretary of the association, Dr. Lolee P Mao, said that the strike will continue until their demands are met.
