Imphal: The COCOMI Women Wing has asked the State Government to dismiss all the police personnel involved in the killing of a village volunteer within 24 hours and release all the six arrested village volunteers within the same deadline.
Speaking to media persons at COCOMI office, Lamphelpat today, COCOMI Women Wing convenor Y Leirikleima vehemently condemned the killing and arrest of village volunteers who volunteered to protect Manipur from Kuki aggression which started on May 3,2023.When Kuki terrorists killed a number of innocent people including women and children, State Police did not give any befitting reply on the excuse that they were not authorised to respond but they are now killing and using brute force against village volunteers, Leirikleima said.
She said that security forces should refrain from arresting village volunteers who are volunteering to protect Manipur.
All the police personnel involved in the killing of the village volunteer must be dismissed and all the six arrested village volunteers must be released within 24 hours otherwise COCOMI would be compelled to launch different modes of intense agitation, she said.
