Disappointed by TMC’s response to border resolution: Meghalaya Chief Minister

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Konrad K. Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tynsong have sought to thwart the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance’s (MDA) efforts to resolve the long-pending border issue between Assam and Meghalaya. But expressed frustration over the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).
AITC MLA Zenith Sangma alleged that the consent of the people in the four inter-state border villages of Pillangkata, Maikhuli, Barapathar and Iongkuli was not taken into account.
Zenith had alleged that the Chief Minister and the Minister in the Assembly had said that the consent of the people would be sought before signing the MoU, but after going to Ground Zero, he understood that (the government) had taken over the people of Meghalaya. Misled, misled and took with them. Riding.

Reacting to this, the Chief Minister said that he did not think that there had been more detailed consultation with the stakeholders than what he had done in the last six months.
“It is very unfortunate that the opposition is raising this issue and saying that stakeholders should have been consulted,” Sangma said. He added that before that there was no consultation with the stakeholders but for the first time they went to the locals. He further said that all this happened with the will of the people and the solution came out after talking to the people.
The Chief Minister reiterated that this may not be the best solution that everyone in the state wants, but it is the best solution that the government can reach.
