Dibrugarh: A team of police and CRPF recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a tea garden in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Monday, police said.
These arms and ammunition have been recovered by the police team from South Jalan T estate in Dibrugarh.
“We received a tip-off that a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was kept in T-State. After that, we along with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) seized the arms and ammunition. An operation has been launched to export it,” said Dibrugarh SP Swetank Mishra.
SP Mishra said that two AK-47 magazines, 12 rounds of ammunition, few grenades and some timer devices were recovered.
How this cache of arms and ammunition reached this tea garden is not yet known. Police operation is on to find out more details about this.
