Guwahati: Since February this year, 24 policemen have been dismissed from their jobs in Assam.

Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh informed this.

The DGP of Assam said that 24 policemen of various ranks in the state have been dismissed from service since February 1 this year.
DGP GP Singh said, “Assam Police has dismissed twenty-four (24) police personnel of various ranks with effect from February 1, 2023.”
Recently, a ‘corrupt’ police officer in Assam has been sacked.

The dismissed officer has been identified as Dhiraj Jyoti Namasudra.
He was serving as Police Sub-Inspector (SI) at Gohpur Police Station in Biswanath District, Assam.

Notably, Dhiraj Jyoti Namasudra was caught red-handed by officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on December 8 last year.
