Assam:The head of the Kamtapur Liberation Organization said that there will be peace talks between the central government and the KLO on the Kamtapur issue soon.
KLO chairman Jeevan Singh Koch revealed through a press statement that “there has been progress in preparations for peace talks.”
On 15 February, at the direction of Jeevan Singh Koch, Biswajit Rai, general secretary of the Koch-Rajbangshi Jatiya Parishad and one of the members of the central government and KLO peace talks, gave a statement to the media. Bhetagaon Burhi Thakurani Police Station Auditorium at Bijni, Chirang.
In the release, the KLO chief said, “I have been informed that some people among my supporters are spreading rumors about my safety and well-being. I am saddened by this development as it derails our peace process. can.”
Further, Jeevan Singh Koch stated that after his earlier press release on 11 January 2023, he entered India along with some of his supporters. He has been well looked after by the government since his return to India.
Referring to his purpose in coming to Assam, the KLO chief said, “My purpose in coming to India is to initiate peace talks with the Government of India to find a solution to the political problem of the people of Koch Kamtapur.”
“The Government of India and the Kamatapur Liberation Organization have made progress and a peaceful solution to all issues, however complex, will be resolved through dialogue,” he added.
Further, he appeals to all sections of Koch Kamtapur including various nationalist organizations to give full cooperation and constructive suggestions during the ongoing debate and wishes for a fruitful and positive outcome.
