K Vanlalvena, the lone Rajya Sabha member from Mizoram, on June 17 called for the imposition of President’s Rule in the violence-hit northeastern state of Manipur and equally criticized the central government for not taking proactive steps to curb the violence in the state.
Speaking to the media, the Rajya Sabha member said that the central government should remove the BJP government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh and impose President’s rule in Manipur so that central forces can keep the Manipur police under their control. I can stop the violence.
The Rajya Sabha MP accused the Manipur police of being highly biased and needed to be brought under the President’s orders.
