Agartala: The death toll in a chariot accident in Tripura’s Unakoti district on June 28 rose to eight when a 40-year-old woman, who suffered severe burns, succumbed to her injuries at GBP Hospital.
According to Tripura Police PRO Jyotshiman Das Choudhury, Ratna Dhar, one of the three persons admitted in critical condition at GB Pant Hospital in Agartala, succumbed to her injuries today.
GBP Hospital sources revealed that the bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the bereaved relatives.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manik Saha, who visited the site on the day of the accident, had announced a district magistrate-level inquiry into the incident.
On the other hand, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, who visited the site and met the victims, has demanded a judicial-level probe by a sitting High Court judge.
