Tura: West Garo Hills (WGH) Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani on Tuesday rubbished rumors of an increase in load shedding hours in the district in light of rumors circulating on social media.
The clarification came amid a note circulating on social media that the time has been increased from the current 10 to 12 hours.
“I can confirm that there will be no increase in load shedding hours from the current 10 hours. What is doing the rounds online is fake. However, as far as the timings are concerned, it may change as I A reduced period of load shedding during business hours has been suggested,” the DC clarified when contacted.
The Garo Hills is going through one of the driest spells in the history of the region as the rains have left the entire region in a lurch. Continuous load shedding has further added to the hardships of the people.
