Guwahati: On September 6, a Central Reserve Police Force official was allegedly stabbed to death in an attack by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Bordumsa along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
The deceased CRPF personnel has been identified as Sunil Kumar Pandey, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Both the jawans were posted in 106 Battalion in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to initial reports, two youths had come to the market area in civilian dress when they were allegedly attacked with a knife by two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants. The miscreants soon fled the scene, leaving one CRPF jawan dead and the other seriously injured.
“The incident took place yesterday evening at around 5:35 pm on the Assam side at Bordumsa Tiniali. Bordumsa Police Station under Assam Police has started an investigation and collected CCTV footage and identified the suspects who are from the Namsai district.
The details have been shared with Arunachal Police and a joint operation has been launched under the leadership of Bevas Das Additional SP HQ and Hemant Boro SDPO Margherita to nab the accused,” Tinsukia SP told India Today NE.
The reason behind the attack is not yet known. Meanwhile, the injured young man was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
