Agartala: Senior CPIM leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Brinda Karat on Thursday said that the BJP is using religion as a weapon to divide the people and the country.
Addressing a party campaign at Amarpur in Gomati district, Karata said that with the onset of 2023, a huge responsibility has fallen on the people of Tripura.
“The first election of 2023 is going to be held in 2023. The future of the Indian constitution depends on this election. This is a challenge for the people of the state. For the people of Tripura, we have to show the BJP a way out and After that people will get freedom”, she said.
Karat claimed that the Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse is now a hero of BJP and RSS. They (BJP-RSS) are now building temples and erecting idols in Godse’s name.
“During Left Front government, there was no politics with temple, religion but BJP used religion for its political gain. BJP is using religion with politics to divide the country and people. is trying to do. Religion is being used as a weapon to divide the people and the country. We have never seen such politics”, she said.
He also accused the saffron party of working to destroy Hindu-Muslim unity.
“During the British era, Hindus, Muslims came together and fought for freedom. And now to break the unity and weaken it, they have attacked the minorities and bulldozed the Indian constitution.
