Court rejects bail plea of Arunachal Pradesh BJP MLA accused of rape. A local court in Arunachal Pradesh has rejected the bail of Arunachal Pradesh BJP MLA Lokam Tassar, accused of rape.
BJP MLA Lokam Tassar represents Koloriang constituency in Arunachal Pradesh.
On July 4, Tassar allegedly raped a 24-year-old pregnant woman at his residence near Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.
A local court in Arunachal Pradesh rejected the anticipatory bail plea of BJP MLA Lokam Tusar.
The district and sessions court at Uppia near Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh rejected Tassar’s bail plea.
The accused Arunachal Pradesh BJP MLA is absconding to avoid arrest since the FIR was lodged.
Hearing the bail application, Court rejects bail of BJP MLA , Judge Gote Maga said, “The presence of the petitioner and the victim at the scene of the incident is prima facie at this stage.
Whether or not, the alleged offense was committed on the relevant day is subject to the rules of evidence which cannot be decided at this stage.
“Nevertheless, considering the position and status of the petitioner, it is felt necessary to join the ongoing criminal investigation by making himself available before the IO (Investigating Officer) of the case at the earliest,” the court said.
