Conrad Sangma visits Guwahati hotel hosting rebel Maharashtra MLAs

On Thursday, Meghalaya CM Konrad Sangma visited the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, which is currently hosting rebel Shiv Sena MLAs.

It is still unclear whether Sangma met rebel Shiv Sena MLAs from Maharashtra during his hotel visit.
Sangma has said that he is staying in a luxury hotel for personal reasons and does not intend to meet the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs.

Denying that his visit to the hotel was politically motivated, he said he had come for lunch. “It’s a personal visit. We’re here for lunch. Nothing more,” Sangma told reporters outside the Guwahati Hotel.
Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, as the Adu Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is losing MLAs, the Shiv Sena rebel faction, led by Eknath Shinde, is attacking MLAs staying at a hotel in Guwahati. On Thursday, 34 Shiv Sena MLAs signed a letter in support of Shinde.

The total number of MLAs staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel is now 35.
