Dimapur: AICC media coordinator Mahima Singh said that the BJP’s manifesto for the Nagaland assembly elections has made fresh set of promises which are devoid of reality.
“Random power outages, paying for water even for daily activities is a reality,” Singh said at a media briefing in Nagaland’s Kohima.
She said that the BJP once again organized a grand function on Tuesday to launch its manifesto full of big claims.
She said Nagaland Deputy CM Y Patton in his manifesto foreword said that in the last five years, Nagaland has become the shining star of the Northeast with the vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Prayaas.
“Coming straight from Mokokchung, I am getting first-hand experience of pathetic infrastructure, roads, electricity and water supply, making a mockery of the promises of the NDPP-BJP coalition government,” Singh said.
She added: “Nagaland is still very far from the eutopia Mr Patton is living in.”
Singh said the youth of Mokokching strongly questioned the lies played on them. She asked where are the jobs were that were promised to them.
“In various public meetings, I met people from youth organizations who publicly pledged that they would not sell their vote on false promises and that they would vote for the Congress because that is where they see hope,” Singh claimed.
She said that the most important observation during his visit was the incidents of hatred, stone pelting and violence among the people of Nagaland which were reported to the police.
“Locals say the police is very cooperative but it is the politics of hate that is dividing the youth of Nagaland,” Singh said.
She said it is time to question those who are sabotaging the future of Nagaland and asked the BJP to show its report card.
