Tinsukia: A three-day conference of deputy commissioners of all 31 districts of Assam began in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh on Monday, where various schemes and projects were discussed.
“Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to attend a conference on Tuesday to discuss various issues related to public service. He is likely to spend the night in Tinsukia and be present on the final day as well,” a senior official said.
He said that DCs have been divided into five groups in the 5th Deputy Commissioners Conference.
The official told that throughout the conference, a comprehensive review of district-wise development work, including various flagship schemes and other projects, would be conducted.
“On the first day, group meetings are being held at five different locations in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts,” he said.
“The review is being conducted by five different teams, each comprising six members. Each team includes a cabinet minister, an additional chief secretary and four other senior officers.
