A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect northwest India from Thursday, December 29. Under its influence, scattered light rain or snow may occur over Western Himalayan region on December 29 and December 30.
Meanwhile, a trough persists over Northeast India, which is likely to bring widespread snowfall or rain along with thunderstorms/hail over the region during this forecast period.
Dense fog is likely during the next two days at isolated parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura at lower tropospheric levels due to light moisture-laden winds.
As for mercury levels, minimum temperatures across the country are expected to be near normal or above average.
