CM Sarma said Assamese paper of Class 10 exam leaked as well

Guwahati: Days after the state board’s Class 10 General Science exam question paper was leaked, the Assamese paper has also been leaked, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday evening.

Sarma has advised the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) to cancel and reschedule the exam.
“It has been brought to my notice that the arrested accused, center in-charge of Luhit Khabalu HS School, has also confessed to leaking the vacancy paper during interrogation.

“In view of this, I have advised SEBA to reschedule the post exam as well,” Sarma said in a tweet.
The Modern Indian Language (MIL) which is Assamese was scheduled to be held on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that exams for Asamese paper as well as other MIL subjects have been cancelled.

“SEBA has informed me that as advised by HCM @CMOfficeAssam, the examination of all MIL subjects including English (IL) of HSLC scheduled for March 18 will be rescheduled. The new date will be announced tomorrow,” he said. tweeted.
In Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts, students study English (instead) instead of MIL.

Apart from Assamese, other MIL subjects are Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, Manipuri, Hamar, Nepali, Mizo, Khasi, Garo, Karbi and Urdu.
The General Science question paper of the 10th matriculation examination was leaked on Sunday night and the subsequent examination on Monday was cancelled.

According to a SEBA notification, the subject exam will now be held on March 30.
Earlier in the day, Sarma had admitted in the Assembly that the General Science question paper leak incident was a “failure” of his government.
“I am saddened to inform that one school center in-charge and three other teachers are the real culprits.
The matriculation paper should not have been leaked. It shows our failure. I accept my failure,” Sarma told the House.
