
Misleading tribals on separate state call, CM accused Tipra Motha
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday said the BJP will never accept Tipra Motha’s demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’.
CM Dr. Saha said this in his first press conference for the second term as the Chief Minister of Tripura.
“We discussed tribal welfare, how to develop them and also improve socio-economic condition. Tribal development is our priority and we will not support excessive demand for Tipraland,” he said. Dr. Saha said.
He said that BJP has tried to solve the problem of tribals and in the coming days the party and the government will work for their development.
On Wednesday, Tipra Motha Chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Further, CM Dr. Saha said that in the first meeting of the Cabinet, MLA Binay Bhusan Das was elected as Pro-tem Speaker of the Assembly and the vote-on-account was also discussed.
He said that his party and government will work to put forward the vision document.
On some of the post-poll violence, the CM said, “I have noticed that a section of vested interests are trying to incite violence and have directed the police to take strict action against them”.
