
CM Rio: Nagaland government’s top priority is Naga political issue
Kohima: “The first priority of the Nagaland government is to find a solution to the Naga political problem.”
This was said by the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio reiterated his opposition-less government’s commitment to work towards a solution to the decades-old Naga political issue.
The Nagaland Chief Minister made this statement during the first general body meeting of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) this year.
The meeting was held on Saturday (September 16) at the State Banquet Hall of the Nagaland Chief Minister’s residential complex in Kohima.
“We came together not only because of leadership but also because of the Naga issue. We will continue to work towards an early solution,” said Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio.
He claimed that the opposition-less government in Nagaland has maintained transparency and accountability at all levels.
Earlier, the Nagaland Chief Minister had said that the northeastern state of Naga was lagging behind in the industrial sector due to unresolved political issues.
CM Rio had said that due to the Naga political issue, Nagaland is lagging behind in the industrial sector and locally manufactured products are not widely commercialized under the label “Made in Nagaland” even though There are a few exceptions.
In his Independence Day speech this year, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio urged the BJP-led central government to find a comprehensive and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue at the earliest.
The Nagaland Chief Minister urged the central government and all stakeholders involved in the Naga political dialogue to show greater urgency towards a comprehensive and acceptable solution.
It should be noted that last month in New Delhi, talks on the Naga political issue were resumed.
The Nagaland Chief Minister also said that his government is committed to an early resolution of the Naga political issue.
