Agartala: Tripura will soon have a dedicated cyber crime police station to deal with cyber crime matters in the state, Chief Minister Manik Saha has said.
CM Saha said that the Tripura government has already established a crime branch police station and has started the process of setting up a cyber crime police station.
Speaking on the occasion of Police Remembrance Day, Saha said that a special task force has been formed to deal with heinous crimes including money laundering cases.
“Among the 28 states in the country, Tripura has the lowest crime rate. This is possible due to the well-coordinated efforts of the police personnel,” the Chief Minister said.
Expressing concern about the menace of drugs, Saha said law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to control the problem.
“We are in the process of getting a drug scanning machine to detect drugs entering the state”, he said.
“It is a matter of pride to say that the KTDS Police Training Academy at Narsingarh in West Tripura has emerged as one of the best police training institutes in the country. Recently, the Government of Manipur requested us to Provide training facility for your police personnel in academy.
Saha said that there are many posts in Tripura police from constable to inspector.
I have held several meetings with the Chief Secretary and the DGP on this issue. It is hoped that a final decision on the recruitment will be taken soon,” he said.
