CM Himanata says INDIA alliance have internal disagreements

Guwahati: In a sharp political jab during his campaign in Madhya Pradesh on September 17, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is actively campaigning for the BJP ahead of the upcoming elections, criticized the Congress party’s alliance, named ‘INDIA.’

He said that the alliance have internal disagreements, and they know this alliance is not sustainable,” Sarma remarked.

Taking a dig at the Congress party, particularly Kamal Nath, and Sarma stated that the people are disillusioned with Congress because of its stance on Sanatana.

He criticized the Congress’s appropriation of titles, starting with the title of Gandhi, and their recent claim of being ‘India.’

He pointed out the rift within the alliance, referencing Kamal Nath’s cancellation of the INDIA bloc’s October rally in Bhopal.

“This alliance will not last long. In Bhopal, their meeting was supposed to happen, but Kamal Nath said, ‘Don’t hold the meeting here.’ If it’s such a grand alliance, why is Kamal Nath suggesting that the meeting should not be held in Bhopal?

He questioned the legitimacy of such alliances, stating, “INDIA Alliance is not India. If tomorrow I change my name to Mahatma Gandhi with an affidavit, will I become Mahatma Gandhi?

If tomorrow I change my name to Subhash Chandra Bose with an affidavit, will I become Subhash Chandra Bose?”

Addressing the significance of Madhya Pradesh in BJP’s electoral strategy, Sarma emphasized that India draws inspiration from the state.

He expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Madhya Pradesh, saying, “We will form the government in Madhya Pradesh.

We are poised for a strong performance. Like the Jan Ashirwad Yatra where people blessed us, I am thankful to the people of Madhya Pradesh. We are poised for a record-breaking performance this time.”
