
CM Assam requested ULFA(I) to join mainstream on R-Day
Assam Chief Minsiter Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke to the Unified Freedom Front of Assam (Autonomous) {ULFA (I)} to get back to the standard during his Republic Day discourse in Guwahati on Thursday.
He said that ULFA (I) is the last achievement in the way of harmony.
The CM was tending to individuals at Khanapara Veterinary School during the 74th Republic Day festivities in Guwahati.
“This isn’t Assam during the groundwork of ULFA. Individuals’ mindset is changing,” Sarma said. Sarma added that once the discourse begins, the state will be headed for advancement.
CM Sarma said that the Assam government is in contact with the administration of ULFA (I) to offer them of real value for talks.
The ULFA (I) had required a strike on the event of Republic Day, which got a blended reaction across the state. No inappropriate occurrence has been accounted for till the composition of this report.
The Assembled Freedom Front of Assam (ULFA) was established on 7 April 1979 at Sivsagar in Upper Assam.
