Chaurachandpur: Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Manipur and the inauguration of Chaurachandpur Medical College on January 6, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday inspected the college premises to review the preparations.

Chief Minister Brien said that six years ago, the establishment of a medical college in the hilly district of Manipur seemed like a dream. However, under the BJP 2.0 government, this dream has become a reality.
He said, “I am here in Chaurachandpur today to ensure that all preparations are complete for the inauguration of this infrastructure for MBBS students by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.” at the end of the week,” he said.

Interacting with the students and faculty at the medical institute, the chief minister assured them that after the completion of the construction of the medical college, the institute would be provided with the best facilities and high standards. He also directed the officials concerned that all the preparations for the inauguration program should be completed on time. Currently 99 medical students are studying in the college.
After inspecting the medical college, the chief minister also inaugurated an open gym for the public at the Peace Ground, Tuibong, where he interacted with the public. He said that health is not only wealth but everything.

This open gym was set up under the Chief Minister’s Indigenous Martial Arts Academy, Manipur with the support of the Government of Manipur.

The chief minister said that the peace ground at Tuibong would be developed as per ‘international standards’. He also said that the ground development work will be started as soon as possible.
Minister for Health Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Yumnam Khemchand, Local MLAs Vungzagin Valte, Shri LM Khaute, Paolienlal Haokip, Ngursanglur, Chinlunthang, Letzamang Haokip; Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, DGPP Doungel, DG (Prisons) C. Doungel, Additional CS Vumlunmang and other senior government officials were also present.
