New Delhi: Chinese fighter jet spotted near LAC in eastern Ladakh. A Chinese Air Force jet flew very close to a friction point in the eastern Ladakh sector on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the last week of June, reports said.
Reports said the Indian Air Force responded swiftly as per standard operating procedures.
Chinese fighter jet spotted Ladakh, the incident took place around 4 a.m. one day in the last week of June when the plane was spotted by men on the ground and picked up by local radars deployed in the border area, a news agency reported.
Immediately after the possible airspace violation was detected, Indian Air Force assets were activated as per standard operating procedures.
The incident took place at a time when the Chinese side is conducting exercises involving its fighter jets and air defense weapons, including the S-400 air defense system, in areas adjacent to the eastern Ladakh sector.
The Chinese have a large number of fighter jets and drones stationed at positions close to the Indian mainland, including major airfields at Hotan and Gargansa, which have been heavily upgraded over the past two years.
