China’s invasion in Tawang:Not 1962 anymore stated by Arunachal CM

GUWAHATI: Regarding the attempt by Chinese troops to unilaterally change the LAC in Arunachal Pradesh’s Yangtse Valley, Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday asserted that the Indian military would “fit in” any external aggression. Have the ability to give.

He also maintained that “it’s no longer 1962,” referring to the Chinese intervention in India that year.
Khandu made the claim while sharing a tweet by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in which the latter had posted his statement in the Rajya Sabha last week on the Chinese PLA’s attempt to cross the LAC in the northeastern state.

On Monday, the Chinese trespass was reported.

Khandu wrote on the micro-blogging site, “Yangtse is under my assembly constituency (Mukto) and every year I meet army men and villagers from the area.
“This is not 1962 anymore. If anyone tries to trespass, our brave soldiers will give a befitting reply.
Praising the Indian troops for handling the situation in Yangste, the Arunachal Chief Minister posted “Our brave Indian soldiers do not respond to the rain of bricks with mere sticks, they respond with iron rods (answers with stones). No, the answer to Ayat.

Indian and Chinese troops clashed on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector on December 9 and the clash resulted in “minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides”, the Indian Army said on Monday. .

In similar statements in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Singh said, “On December 9, PLA troops attempted to cross the LAC in Yangtse area of Tawang sector and unilaterally changed the status quo. The Chinese attempt was countered by our troops in a strong and determined manner.

“The ensuing face-off led to a physical clash in which the Indian Army bravely stopped the PLA from entering our territory and forced them to retreat to their posts. The clash resulted in injuries to a few personnel from both sides.

“The Chinese side was asked to desist from such actions and maintain peace and tranquility on the border. The issue has also been raised with the Chinese side through diplomatic channels,” the defense minister said.

In October last year too, there was a brief encounter between Indian and Chinese troops near the Yangtse River. It was resolved after talks between the local commanders of both sides as per the agreed protocol.

Relations between the two Asian countries have significantly deteriorated since June 2020, when a fierce clash in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley marked the worst military conflict between the two sides in decades.

Both sides gradually increased their deployments by tens of thousands of troops and heavy weapons.

After the Ladakh standoff, the Indian Army significantly increased its operational capabilities in the eastern theater, along the LAC, where the Yangtse is located.
