China to allow ‘some’ Indian understudies to return: Chinese Foreign Ministry

Beijing: China on Friday reported plans to allow the arrival of “some” Indian understudies abandoned in India for north of two years following the visa and flight limitations forced by Beijing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Zhao Lijian told a media preparation here that China connects high significance to Indian understudies’ interests about getting back to China for studies. We have imparted to the Indian sides the techniques and experience of other nations’ understudies getting back to China .

In reality, the work for Indian understudies’ return has proactively been begun. All that still needs to be done is for the Indian side to give the rundown of understudies who truly need to return to China, he said.

According to prior reports, north of 23,000 Indian understudies, generally concentrating on medication in Chinese universities, are caught in India after they got back as the Covid broke out in China in December 2019. They couldn’t get back to China because of the limitations forced by the Chinese government to capture the spread of the infection.
