Charge sheet against BJP government ahead of Tripura Congress by-elections

Agartala: Charge sheet against BJP government ahead of Tripura Congress by-elections .A few days before the by-elections in four assembly constituencies in Tripura, the Congress on Wednesday unveiled a ‘charge sheet’ against the BJP-led state government and failed to deliver on its promises to the people. Accused of failing.
The opposition party claimed that the state government did not provide 50,000 government jobs every year nor did it empower the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) as promised.
The 13-point charge sheet was issued in the presence of AICC General Secretary Ajay Kumar and Secretary Changsari Letplang.
The ruling BJP, however, denied the allegations, claiming that the Congress would know the response of the people on June 26, when the results of the four by-elections would be announced.
By-polls in Town Bordowali, Agartala, Surma and Jubarajnagar constituencies will be held on June 23. Tripura’s new Chief Minister Manik Saha, who is not a member of the Assembly, is contesting from Town Bordowali constituency.
State Congress president Birajit Sinha told a press conference that before the 2018 Assembly elections, the BJP had promised to provide 50,000 government jobs every year.
However, this has not happened in the last 52 months of the BJP-IPFT government. Sinha said he had promised to offer benefits of the 7th Central Pay Commission to state government employees but it was yet to be implemented.
He also accused the BJP government of failing miserably to maintain law and order in the state.
He said that the central leadership of the BJP had promised to set up a high power committee to empower the TTA ADC.
He said a committee had been formed but no one knew what it had done.
The TTAADC area is two-thirds of the state territory, and is home to the tribal people who make up one-third of Tripura’s population.
The Congress leader claimed that the state’s healthcare and education sectors have also been badly affected by the BJP government’s misrule.
