Candidates of NPP from Garo Hills file nominations for poll 2023

Tura: The three NPP candidates from East Garo Hills (EGH), Marcuise Marak (Williamnagar), Jim Sangma (Rongjeng) and Nihim D. Shira (Songsak) have been the returning officers of East Garo Hills (EGH) submitted your papers in presence this afternoon. Apart from this, another independent candidate from Baghmara, Kartos Marak, also filed his papers from South Garo Hills. The first two days since the filing of nomination papers for the upcoming elections have been slow and no major candidates have filed their papers. However with 4 today and more candidates in the next two days, the number is expected to increase. The districts of North, South West and West Garo Hills remained vacant today. In EGH, 3 NPP leaders joined their supporters in a show of strength ahead of serious campaigning while in Bagmara, Kartus put up an impressive turnout with over 2,000 supporters turning out for a massive rally this afternoon. A rally was held with the candidate in the show. Kartus is pitted against 3-time MLA Samuel Sangma of BJP, Saljagringgrang Marak of AITC and Satto Marak of NPP.
