Shillong: BSF apprehends B’deshi smuggler in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills. Border Security Force (BSF) troops arrested a Bangladeshi national in Meghalaya’s eastern Khasi Hills district for trying to smuggle goods, an official said on Sunday.
A BSF spokesman said in a statement that acting on credible information.
BSF troops deployed at the international border in the Peredivah area of the district on Saturday seized drugs worth more than Rs 2 million from a Bangladeshi national.
The Bangladeshi citizen is identified as Feroz Ali, a resident of Sylhet, Bangladesh.
The arrested man has been handed over to the district police, the statement said.
It said BSF troops also seized medicines, including cough syrups and cosmetics, from the West Jantia Hills District, the Southwest Khasi Hills District and the East Khasi Hills District.
