
A case has been registered in Boko police station
Boko: A former principal of a college was arrested and brought to Boko police station after a written complaint was lodged over alleged misappropriation of funds.
Abdul Kalam Ajad, former principal, Sontoli Anchalik College, was summoned for questioning after the college’s vice president, Mubarak Hussain, filed a written complaint against the former principal.
On Tuesday morning, Boko PS OC Phanindra Chandra Nath said they had arrested the former principal and a fourth grade staff member, Rabiul Hussain, and sent them to judicial custody. A case has been registered in Boko police station viz 02/23 under section 120(B)/ 409/ 420/ 468 IPC.
OC Nath also said that as per the complaint, the principal is allegedly involved in the scam of college infrastructure funds of around Rs 31.8 lakh and the principal failed to disclose data related to the amount.
Police told that this is not the first case against Ajad. The current principal Dr. Tapan Dutta also filed a case against Ajad. “The allegation is that the suspended ex-principal Abdul Kalam Azad is allegedly involved in another scam involving the central government’s scholarship for minority students,” Nath added.
