Agartala: A Muslim man and his mother were allegedly beaten up by a group of local BJP leaders at the party’s office in Melaghar in West Tripura district.
BJP Workers Torture Muslims , The man, identified as Masoom Mia and her mother, was beaten up by local leaders of the saffron party at the Baniachra Gram Panchayat BJP office under Melaghar police station in West Tripura on Friday night, sources said.
According to locals, Masoom Mia, a resident of Talkajala village, got into an argument with a friend on the road in Banyachara when he went to drop her off on a bike.
As he was returning home, he was stopped by a group of BJP workers who took him to the party office, where he was allegedly beaten up mercilessly.
After hearing the news, Masum’s mother rushed to the BJP office to save her son but she too was allegedly beaten up by the saffron party workers.
As soon as the information was received, the police team of Melaghar police station reached the spot and rescued them. Police later took him to Melaghar Hospital for treatment.
