Agartala: Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Tripura on Sunday evening after inaugurating several projects, the opposition CPI-M reacted strongly to his visit to the state.
The CPI-M alleged that the BJP was using government machinery to campaign for the party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Tripura.
Tripura CPI-M secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said, “With the elections around the corner, the BJP has paralyzed the entire administrative system of Tripura and put the people of the state at risk.”
He said, “The people of this state, who are disappointed with the mismanagement of the BJP government during the last 5 years, were waiting for the Prime Minister to address the BJP’s failure to fulfill its 2018 election promises. Give the reason. ”
“Also, we were also expecting PM Modi to make some announcement for Tripura as he has come to the state just before the assembly elections. But, nothing happened; Instead PM Modi left the people of this state in misery and spent huge public money,” said the Tripura CPI-M leader.
“PM Modi also talked about the Agartala-Akhora rail project. This project was also started before the Modi government and is still not completed and now it is being told that the work of this project will be completed by next year 2023, even the completion of this project is doubtful.”During the last 5 years no initiative has been taken to develop the industrial sector of Tripura, rather many industries and productions have been shut down due to the mafia rule in the industrial development hub of Budjang Nagar,” he said.
