Bijoy Sankar Saikia famous assamese actor passes away at 39

Guwahati: Renowned Assamese actor and theater artist Bijoy Sankar Saikia breathed his last at the age of 39 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Tezpur on Friday.

He is the son of veteran Assamese actor and playwright Uday Sankar Saikia.
Saikia gained popularity among the masses by acting in several Assamese films and daily soaps. Apart from being an actor, he was also a famous theater artist.
The actor played various roles in several dramas and also directed them.
Bijoy Sankar Saikia’s recently released Assamese film ‘Dr. Bezbaruah-2, starring Adil Hussain, Zubin Garg, and Siddharth Nippon Goswami.

He was one of the founding members of Tezpur-based cultural group ‘‘Nakhyatra”.
