
Before assembly polls, clashes between Congress and BJP worker
Itanagar: Pre-poll clashes erupted in the Northeast state of Arunachal Pradesh, which is slated to go to assembly elections on April 19.
Violence erupted at Dadam village, located within the Khonsa (West) legislative assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh, on Monday (April 08) afternoon.
Clashes ensued between supporters of the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh.
Ten individuals sustained injuries during the altercation, with two of them requiring further medical treatment and being referred to Dibrugarh in Assam.
Both the political parties have filed first information reports (FIRs) against each other in response to the incident.
In an attempt to diffuse the tension, deputy commissioner Ira Singhal has called for a meeting with representatives from both parties.
Authorities are actively working to address the situation and ensure peace is maintained in the region.
