Manipur: At 8.23 pm on Thursday night, motorcycle-borne miscreants hurled a bomb and detonated it at the gate of the residence of Nuria Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency MLA Soraisam Kebi at Ningthemcha Karong under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West. Sources said that there was no loss of life.
According to reports on the ground, two youths on a motorcycle lit its fuse and threw a bomb. However, apart from a few holes on the ground, there was no major damage from the blast.
On receiving the information, SP Imphal West S Ibomcha reached the spot along with a team from Singajmei police station and inspected the spot.
“It is very sad and disturbing that such an explosion took place at the gate of my residence amid ongoing unrest in the state,” MLA Kebi told the media.
She said that any case of misunderstanding can be resolved through dialogue and negotiation instead of resorting to such brutal attacks.
She further appealed to the people behind this incident not to repeat such actions in future.
She asserted that we are all human and misunderstandings can be overcome without bombs.
