At Likabali Indian Army organises ex-servicemen rally

Pasighat: The Spearhead Division of the Indian Army, under the auspices of the Spear Corps, organized an ex-servicemen’s rally at the Likabali Army Headquarters in Lower Siang district of Arunachal on Saturday.

The rally, held after a gap of two years due to the pandemic, was aimed at redressing grievances in distribution of pension, providing assistance in legal matters and various other issues faced by ex-servicemen and veterans.
Two Veer naris, one Veer Mata, one special child and 1500 ex-servicemen and their dependents from 12 districts of Arunachal Pradesh and two districts of Assam participated in the event.

GOC Spearhead Division of Indian army and other dignitaries present on the occasion interacted with Veer Naris, ex-servicemen and their dependents to hear their grievances.
During the rally, stalls were set up for various aspects like ECHS, Rehabilitation, Scenic Boards, SPARSH & AADHAR Helplines, Record Office and Army Placement Organization. A medical camp was also organized as part of the rally where various experts provided medical advice and check-ups to the ex-servicemen.
GOC Spearhead Division commemorated the invaluable services of ex-servicemen and the great sacrifices of soldiers who were martyred in the service of the nation.

He also apprised the pensioners and others about the various welfare schemes and thanked the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, State of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Civil Administration for their wholehearted cooperation in making the event a success.
A joint forum of defense and civil agencies under one roof was the highlight of the day. A change in the recruitment process for Agnew was also announced during the day, the details of which are said to be available on the army’s website.
When asked about the benefits derived from the ESM rally, some army ex-servicemen said that they were very happy about the various services provided to the ex-servicemen during the rally.

The rally ended with felicitations from Veer naris and ESMs.
