Assam has been able to showcase its talent in filmmaking, both feature and non-feature segments, and on Thursday took the national stage at the 69th National Film Awards, 2021 with a total of five Rajat Kamal awards.
According to a release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee won the National Film Award for Best Narrative/Voiceover for ‘Hatibandhu’, while Tiwa’s ‘Fire on Edge’ won the National Film Award for Best Anthropological Film. Won the film award.
Dr Jahanara Begum received a Special Jury Mention (Certificate only) for the recently released film ‘Anur’.
Apart from this, Monjul Baruah’s ‘Anur’ has been awarded the National Film Awards for Best Assamese Film.
Meanwhile, ‘Bomba Ride’ has been awarded the Best Misleading Film in the Best Feature Film category in each language other than the languages mentioned in Schedule VIII of the Constitution, while Reema Bora’s ‘Aunaad-The Resonance’ has been honored. has been awarded. National Film Award for the year 2021 as the best film on social issues.
Appreciating the achievements, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on Twitter, “Eminent Assamese who honored Assam with various important title awards at National Film Awards 2021 will inspire the next generation. Hearts to them. Deepest congratulations and best wishes.”
