
Assam's next Governor is Mr.Gulab Chand senior BJP leader
Guwahati: Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan and senior BJP leader Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the next Governor of Assam.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday announced the names of 12 governors of states and one lieutenant governor in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Gulab Chand Kataria is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician. Earlier, he was the Home Minister in the Rajasthan government from 2014 to 2018. He is a senior BJP leader in Rajasthan and a member of the party’s central working committee.
The current Governor of Assam is Professor Jagdish Mukhi who assumed charge on 10 October 2017.
President Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignations of Bhagat Singh Koshyari as Governor of Maharashtra and Radha krishnan Mathur as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Rashtrapati Bhavan’s statement said.
Meanwhile, General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd) has been appointed as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
Chhattisgarh Governor Sushri Anusuiya Uikye has been appointed as the Governor of Manipur.
Manipur Governor La Ganesan has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland, Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan has now been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya and Lakshman Prasad Acharya as the Governor of Sikkim.
On the other hand, the current Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) appointed Lt Governor of Ladakh.
However, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan has been appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh, while the current Governor of Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.
“The above appointments will be effective from the dates they will take charge of their respective offices,” the official added.
