GUWAHATI: On Monday the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a raid against black marketing of railway tickets in Guwahati, resulting in the arrest of 108 people for ticket blacking.
The recovered tickets were worth over Rs 31.66 lakh, which belonged to April to December 2022.
To ensure that passengers can easily get tickets, RPF has appealed to them to buy tickets only from booking windows, authorized websites and agents.
The RPF also said that the anti-ticketing campaign will continue to prevent illegal buying and selling of tickets.
It should be noted that many times passengers lose out on tickets because some people deliberately book tickets for certain trains so that they can be sold in black later.
Due to this, most of the passengers are forced to buy tickets in black and that too at very high cost. To control this, the Railways started a campaign against such brokers.
