Assam Youth Congress president calls Ripun Bora ‘badass’
Guwahati: Assam Youth Congress (APYC) president Ankita Dutta has termed former APCC president and Rajya Sabha member Ripin Bora a “villain”.
APYC president Ankita Dutta’s reaction came when Ripun Bora on Sunday announced his resignation from the Congress and joining the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata.
In a series of harsh tweets, Ankita Dutta slammed Ripun Bora, calling him “opportunistic, nothing good, bad”.
What a wonderful day for the Assam Congress. An opportunist, good for nothing, went PERVERT. Tata bye bye, ”Dutta said in a tweet.
In another tweet, he blamed Bora for the poor performance of the Congress party in Upper Assam in the Assembly elections.
The Youth Congress leader also alleged that many women leaders either became inactive or left the party because of him.
“Soo (sic) a lot of good women became inactive or left because of this disorder. A lot of dirty women got solid place because of this disorder,” read the tweet.
Former Assam Congress president Ripun Bora joined the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata on Sunday in the presence of the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Bora, who has been with the Congress since 1976, accused party chief Sonia Gandhi in her resignation letter that a section of Congress leaders in Assam were in touch with the ruling BJP leaders and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
